Y’S STEM Innovation is led by Yvette Selby, a nationally respected STEM enrichment strategist, robotics competition coach, and ecosystem builder with nearly three decades of experience spanning federal service, community-based programs, and workforce-aligned STEM innovation.
After 28 years of public service, including leadership at the federal level, Yvette transitioned into full-time mission-driven work focused on expanding access, excellence, and equity in STEM education—especially for Black and Brown youth, educators, and community organizations.
Her work sits at the intersection of engineering education, culturally responsive pedagogy, systems change, and community power. She is known for translating complex STEM pathways—robotics, engineering, AI readiness, data literacy—into accessible, hands-on programs that prepare students not just to participate, but to lead.
Yvette has designed and led STEM initiatives across K–12 schools, community-based organizations, professional engineering networks, and national advisory bodies, consistently bridging the gap between education, industry, and community impact.

Y’S STEM Innovation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, partners with organizations to design, implement, and elevate dynamic STEM enrichment programs. We specialize in developing culturally responsive, youth-centered programs, training educators, and providing program evaluation strategies that foster creativity, critical thinking, and long-term engagement in STEM.
